There are many reasons that lead individual unaccompanied adults to experience homelessness or be on the brink of homelessness, including illness, loss of a spouse or job, or their income not keeping up with the cost of housing.

- The Emergency Aid to the Elderly, Disabled, and Children program (EAEDC)
- The Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP)
- The Alternative Housing Voucher Program (AHVP)
- Housing and services for unaccompanied young adults (and youth) experiencing homelessness
