- 229,600 MA low income renters pay more than 50% of their monthly income for housing alone.
- With a median income of $1,300/month and rents of $1,170/month, many low income renters are left with only $130/month for food and other necessities.
- Common setbacks such as job loss, illness, lack of childcare or missed child support payments often result in evictions and homelessness.
